I recently got a '17 L5P, ~83,000 miles. Let me preface by saying I have owned 12 diesels, (4) Powerstrokes, (2) Duramaxes, (5) Cummins and a Ecodiesel. I am not new to them. I struggle to get more then 15-15.5 mpg in this truck and its driving me nuts. A couple of observations. I'm not thrilled with the angle of the oil filter on the truck. If it was vertical, you could prefill it so it doesn't take so long for the oil pressure to come up. In other words, if in M5 it will shift normally up to 5th gear and not go into 6th. They tell us to never use 6th while towing heavy.
